Bavaria's Happy Tails On Esti "DeeDee"

DeeDee developed pancreatic cancer in October, 2008.  DeeDee became part of the Weissman Family on December 14, 2002.

Email from Jory Weissman on October 24, 2008:

Today was a very hard day for our family. We said goodbye to our loyal and faithful DeeDee. As all of you know, DeeDee became very ill in late August. We have spent the past few months traveling all over town visiting cancer, heart and boxer specialists, some two hours away, in hopes of finding a way to help DeeDee live her last days the best that she could. When DeeDee was in intensive care for three days in October, we thought she wouldn't make it much longer. But she held on for us so that we could enjoy just a few more weeks with her. That is one way we will remember DeeDee, as a dog who always did what was best for us, her companions. She was so giving and caring and she meant so much to everyone who knew her. Whenever we walked her, strangers on the street would stop us and tell us how beautiful and well mannered she is. Especially children, they would love to pet her and she would let them do anything to her. She was a gentle, sweet dog.

We can not thank you enough for all of your messages and calls over the past few months about DeeDee. Your concern for DeeDee has shown so much. I think Melissa said it best when she called us after Maia was born and said, "Baby, shmaby…how's DeeDee?" DeeDee was an incredible companion to us and this will take time for us to get through.

Vera Kollar - August, 2002 - DeeDee is one of the sweetest, easy-going boxers I have had. She is a "Lady" all the way. She is a submissive boxer and will not ever try to dominate another dog. Her agility and quickness is amazing, yet, my two-year-old granddaughter can walk her on a leash that will never get taunt. She has traveled the country with me and never barks, even in strange motel rooms.  I thank them for giving her such a wonderful life!
